Aimee is a credentialed Developmental Therapist who earned her Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Juvenile Justice from DePaul University in 1997. Before having children of her own, she worked as a Preschool and Elementary School Teacher in both Chicago and its suburbs. She has taught in various age groups and educational settings over the years, including as a Kindergarten and 1st Grade Special Education Teacher, as a 3rd Grade Classroom Teacher and as a Preschool Teacher. In these roles, she has provided curriculum and goal development, academic support, and group and one-on-one assistance with children involved in both special and general education programs, all while utilizing her play-based, family centered approach. Most recently she has taught two and three year old Preschool and worked as a tutor for Elementary age students. She has had the opportunity to work with children birth to age 8 with Autism, Down Syndrome, and children with global developmental delays.
